The Starbuck Chronicles tell the story of Nathaniel Starbuck as he fights in the American Civil War.

Bernard Cornwell stopped writing Starbuck novels when the Sharpe novels were made into TV movies. He likes to write one Sharpe/Starbuck novel a year together with another book. The demand for more Sharpe novels means that The Starbuck Chronicles will be put on hold until Sharpe's story is finished. Once this happens Cornwell has said he hopes to write more Starbuck novels
