Description's Source: Richard Quintain seems to be the sort of male lead to suit every occasion that W. Howard Baker needed him for. Most of his appearances seem to be in espionage thrillers but in "Drums of the Dark Gods" he is a fraud investigator while "The Girl in Asses Milk" is a murder mystery. The time period varies wildly as well, "The Rape of Berlin" and "Strike North" are set during the Second World War while "The Dead and the Damned" is set during the Vietnam War. Further investigation has revealed that many of the Richard Quintain novels were extensive rewrites of Sexton Blake novels, of which Baker was the editor at the time. |
