In our time line, the roman general Belisarius was amongst the best generals that Rome had ever fielded. Here he was ordered by his Emperor Justinian, to march West and regain the lost lands for the empire. A fool's quest for which he suffered.

In this imaginative series, Drake and Flint give Belisarius a far more worthy task - nothing more than the rescue of Humanity from a threat from the Far Future. The so-called New Gods of that distant time looked round the galaxy and saw the massive changes that had affected Humanity in it's spread through the strange landscapes and were not pleased.

In order to force the future into a shape more to their liking, they sent back a device that would force the vast bulk of Humanity into unremitting slavery. The Malwa rulers of this prototypical empire embraced Link's lesons with delight.

In response, those who would see the future remain diverse sent back an advisor to let the greatest general of his time overcome the inhuman threat. But will even knowledge of future tactics and technology be enough to overcome Indian numbers?
