Reviews of So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish (1984)

This tends to be the installment of the Hitchhiker's Guide series where people start saying things like "Adams is losing it" and "Not as good as the others". To the contrary! The others, no matter how marvelous, were repetitions of a trick. But this one ... the scene in which Arthur and Fenchurch made an old lady's day by having sex on the wing of the plane in which she was flying home, made this book for me.

The only real disappointment in Adams' sublime Hitchhiker series. Pointless events and characters (does anyone really care for Fenchurch?), and not much of the author's trademark humor is present in this one. High points include the "true story" of the stolen biscuits and Ford's return to Earth. Otherwise, just read this to fill in the gaps between the good Hitchhiker books.
