All Quiet on the Western Front is a fictional account of WWI told from a German soldier's perspective. This book was very depressing, but very good. It really gives you a feel for how demoralizing war can be. 9/10

great book, but i'd like to point out that the original language was german, and the original title was "Im Westen nichts Neues".
not that i'm picky.
