A pleasant surprise from Stephen King.
For years, I had not worried about this being the only Stephen King book that I hadn't read. Many people said that it really wasn't a great book and several said that they had started it but never finished it.
Frankly, I don't know what the problem was. The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon is a gripping story about a little girl who is lost in the woods. It narrates the trials and tribulations of her journey and struggle to survive on her own in a seemingly unending wilderness. During this we are shown the incredible strength of her character even as she falls deeper and deeper into madness. Along her journey, she encounters many pitfalls and dangers along with a brush with the malevolent supernatural.
This is a very entertaining story and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I love how Stephen king can take any situation and make it completely horrifying. It doesnt have to have monsters or boogeymen or even an evil villian to be scary. But then that is the genius that is Stephen King.
This book was actually quite good. I hear that they are making this into a movie also.

Nice little thriller. A bit of a departure, but it's actually one of his more thrilling ones. 9/10
