Reviews of Damaged (2010)

Review by michael a draper (2011-02-11)
A Coast Guard helicopter finds a fisherman's cooler bobbing in the water off the Florida coast in the Gulf of Mexico. Thinking they were going to find drugs, officials are surprised when they find the cooler filled with body parts.

A massive hurricane is heading toward the Gulf of Mexico. FBI profiler, Maggie O'Dell is asked to help on the case. To do so, she must go to Pensecola, Florida as the hurricane approaches.

Elsewhere, soldiers returning from Afghanistan who have lost limbs, begin to expericnce a toxic ailment and a number of them die. Officials are trying to determine the cause.

Undertaker, Scot Larsen has made an agreement with Joe Black, so Black could accept delivery and provide storage for some human body parts he will use in his doctor conferences.

I enjoyed the novel and the characters. Maggie O'Dell and Coast Guard dive team member Liz Bailey are well drawn and show intelligence and assertiveness in discovering the killer.
