Reviews of Arrowhead (2008)

Review by johnafair (2009-01-23)
After the plague came the retrenchment and, as Britain splintered into separate societies, each focused on holding what it can from the gangs roaming the devastated remnants of a civilisation gone, it suffers another invasion from France as De Falaise and his group of mercenaries find their way through the Channel Tunnel.

De Falaise plans to carve out his own kingdom and takes his place in Nottingham Castle, so redolent of an earlier fight against the tyranny of kings. Meanwhile, Robert Stokes had hidden himself in Sherwood Forest becoming a hermit as he attempts to hide from the ghosts of his dead wife and son.

As De Falaise's tyranny spreads its tentacles through the Nottinghamshire countryside, Robert reluctantly finds himself involved in the affairs of the survivors and a legend from England's mediaeval past is reborn...
