Foreign Body is a typical Robin Cook medical conspiracy thriller -- fun, but flawed. The CNN breaking news reports that drove the plot forward seemed too gossipy and unsubstantiated. I was also irritated with the lack of proofreading by the publisher. Within two pages, the following lines made me cringe: "When someone shoots themselves . . . " and "For fear whomever it was might try to exit . . . " Somewhere an editor and Mr. Cook need to review singular/plural and subject/object.
