Reviews of Making Money (2007)
Review by johnafair (2007-11-17)
I was a bit afraid with this book as I thought that Terry was going to just repeat 'Going Postal' but I should have known better.
Although the basic premise is similar; Moist Lipwig is blackmailed into dragging one of Ankh-Morpork's more, er, venerable institutions into the present. This time Moist's target is the bank and associated mint.
Or it would be if Moist was interested in the post of Master of the Mint, but he's cautious; bored silly at the Post Office, but frantically eager not to be manipulated into being shanghaied into running the bank. But Vetinari's eager to get a decent banking system back into operation and Moist's his chosen operator...
Crazy relatives, murderous relatives and overly solicitous Igors, never mind thousands of golems, overall this is a great book.
