Reviews of Thousand Splendid Suns, a (2007)

This was an amazing, well-written saga of modern Afganistan. I thought I was knowledgable about what was going on in the world but I was totally in the dark. This book was so enlightening. It makes me understand why the war in the Middle East is so very complex. It seems everytime there is a ray of hope things just get so much worse. It teaches us to respect other cultures and not judge all people in the same way you would judge the evil ones that are terrorists and like President Bush calls them "evil doers". It shows that women in the Middle East are treated like second class citizens and slaves. I am truely in awakened by this book as to how ignorant I really was before reading it. It is a must read. I hope all the politicians read it to gain incite that they need to help this backward, suffing country.
