Reviews of One Day At Horrorland (1994)

Review by wormbook (2007-09-26)
I really liked this Goosebumps book. When A family is looking for Zoo Gardens theme park, they end up going to Horror Land. Their car blows up and they are stranded to they go on all sorts of scary rides and places. It is a very "organized" book. It has a great plot and theme. So if you love Goosebumps, read this book immediately!

This was the only Goosebump book I read, and it took me no more than half-an-hour. If it had taken longer (and if I had had anything better to do at that time) I would have never finished it.

IT SUCKED! I cannot possibly think of another way to put it. This was the least scariest book I have ever read; Dr. Seuss is scarier, for crying out loud! The cliffhangers were even more contrived and anticlimactic than the ones that appear in the Hardy Boys Casefiles. Everything in this story was a major disappointment.

Do yourself a favor: never read this book. Never read any Goosebumps. R.L. Stine is a horrible author.

1/10. If I could give it a 0, I would.

After have read this book, all I can say is that being that I am a avid fan of amusement parks (Disneyland Resort [Disneyland Park and Disney's California Adventure] and Six Flags to be exact), some of the rides in this amusement park are rides just like any ride on a traveling carnival and were not that good. The so called monsters in the amusement park did not scare me and the fact that the family got lost, cracked me up. Have they not been that way before? Overall, I would recommend this book as it is entertaining, but if this was a real amusement park, I would not recommend going.
