Reviews of Rabbit, Run (1960)

"Rabbit, Run" by John Updike is one of the most remarkable books written in the second half of the XXth century.
the plot centres around Harry Angstrom, a former high school basketball star. However, in his mid-20s, he has turned into a normal, mediocre citizen, and this is what scares him. He tries to run from the mediocrity of his ordinary life, but realises there is nowhere to run to.
Although there are several sequels to this book, none of them is nearly as good. Now, almost half a decade after this book was written, it is more topical and current than ever, and I do believe it will stay such for a long time. Run and read it! 9/10
