Reviews of Dark Arena, the (1955)

Review by grendel (2006-01-30)
Mario Puzo was known as one of the greatest writers ever, by me lol. The Dark Arena is one of his first and probably one of the most human pieces he had ever worked on. The Dark Arena focuses on an American Soldier in a foriegn land who no longer wishes to be. He can't relate to his family at home, he can't relate to America, and he can't understand why he can feel comfortable only on foriegn soil. Eventually he starts a life for himself over sea's but humanity kicks in and he is forced to discover that he doesn't belong, possibly anywhere, and that his return home is inevitable.
