Reviews of Choke (2001)

One of the funniest (certainly in an acidic way), most engaging books I've read. Despite the extremes of the story telling, the manner in which you associate with Victor's life, and even see parallels with his rather desperate friend, Denny.
If you can stomach some of the more grotesque aspects of this book (which if you're considering Palahniuk I assume so) then it is well worth a read, and possibly his finest to date.

Another fantastically written book from the best author around! Choke is to sex as Fight Club is to violence: Choke does not glorify or condone wanton sex, but rather uses it as a tool to tell a powerful story. Victor's search for himself through society is a powerful thing that we can all identify with. Well written, and deep.
