After have read the book, all I can say is that I forced my way through this book when I was required to read this book to pass the tenth grade. The story was borning through and through. A guy in a boat in the ocean off the coast of Florida talking to a boy is not exactly a story that I thought that I would be reading. Overall, I would not recommend this book unless this is something that you would enjoy.

What can I say about this book?
Simply, breathtaking, beautiful and deep as the ocean it takes place on. Wonderful book. Read it and be transported away. To a far and salty sea. With the wind on the face of an old, old, Cuban fisherman. To a beautiful and moving place. Allone and a struggle with a giant fish. A struggle with life. A mature and more philosophical work from a master at the height of his powers. Simply beautiful. Simply wonderful. Read, read, read!!
