Reviews of Soon (2003)
Review by tiggerhans (2006-05-07)
After the Left behind Series, I started to read Soon with some prejudism.
The first pages didn't make it easier, and I felt the urge to lay the book down. Names were to obvious, and it all sounded a bit redicoulous.
However, after a while it turned out to be a book that reads better than all the books of the Left Behind Series together, and I think Jenkins is doing a better job without LaHaye.
The book reads like a detective and a thriller at the same time, and I actually couldn't lay it down anymore and read it during my spare time in only 3 days time.Though the names were something that kept bothering me, the caracters are more mature than in the other series, and they really come to life.
I am sure, all these people who are so anti Christianity or anti religion would rate it 1 point, even without reading it. And that doesn't do any justice to the author who shows here that he is really a great writer.
Those who seriously give it a chance will discover that it is more than just another religious 'end-time' story.
