Reviews of Sentry Peak (2000)

The best thing about this is the fact that Dr Turtledove admits the major difference between this book and Real Events is the geographical flip - southern forces in this are the Unionists and the Northerners are the Confederates. Even the commanders are relatively easy to identify and as Turtledove comments in his epilogue, even some of the more unlikely events in the book have their historical counterpoints.
That said, this is a decent read, with good descriptions of the various military actions and decent camp life.
