Reviews of Left Behind: A Novel of the Earth's Last Days (1995)

Review by jesco (2003-06-27)
I accidently bought this book on a trip because I had forgotten my usual reading stuff. Well, as you can derive from my using of accidently, I soon regret the Euros spent for it.

While the general concept behind this book sounds interesting, it is too religiously executed. The idea of people suddenly vanishing for no apparent reason sounds like a great thriller (very much like Langoliers, which I enjoyed much), but the religious morale behind all this made my stomach turn.

It's not that I object against moralistic stories, but the authors definetely do too much good there. It's, quite frankly, ridiculous.
