Reviews of Pretties (2005)
Review by lcb (2008-08-01)
This is the second book in a series set in the future, where when you turn 16, and operation makes you beautiful, and you spend your time partying.
I liked Pretties a lot more than I liked Uglies. The main character, Tally, was a lot more interesting. She spends more of the book trying to right the wrongs she committed in the first book.
The writing style was a little more engaging than the first book (or I just got used to Westerfeld's writing.)
I consider this book "near perfect" where Uglies was just good.

Luxury, Fame, Fun, Parties, Popularaty..it's everything anyone's ever wanted right? To true, literarty...this is to true to be real. Tally figures this out...eventually. With the help of her boyfriend, they find the meaning of perfection--and what it costs. This is a must-read novel for all of you who are looking for something that will capture your attention and keep you flipping those golden pages!! It is filled with a miture of suspense, adventure, and romance!!
