Reviews of Pyramids (1989)
Review by Lilliana (2003-03-12)
Whoever wanted to visit Egypt can skip the hot desert sun and the boring tour guide and read Pyramids. Not that it gives you an insight about ancient Egypt. And it's not that it comes even close to Amenhotep or Nefertiri. It's just that it is much more entertaining, hilarious and mind-sharpening than sweating all over Asuan and getting sick gliding up the Nile. And there are Pyraminds too, pharaohs and high priests, a nice mummification scene (with Ankh-Morpork custard pie interlude), a shy assassin and a sleek ship, a lady in distress and the spirits of the ancestors, well, approximately. Recommended for everyone who knows anything about Egypt especially.
