Reviews of Rats, the (1974)

Review by lord kallor (2004-12-17)
Probably one of James Herbert's best books. The story of man at the mercy of the beast is thrilling and grusome in equall measure. in many places the book revolves around the individual stories of people being killed and eaten by rats. But there is an underlying story and even if a bit predictable the horror and disgust invoked is genuine. James Herbert is not afraid to be nasty. 7/10 (not my favorite genre but more extreme than Steven
King discounting The Stand of course)
