This is the first novel Roberts wrote - and it shows, compared to the later ones. It's a little less well developed - but I still appreciate a good Irish horse story. The characters do go through some changes, minor ones, but changes nevertheless. This one may be Roberts first novel, but it's still a very interesting book.
