The overall story arc is pretty interesting but a LOT of these stories are as follows:

Clueless person: Gee, whats this bizarre science fiction thingy?
Smart Person: Well, I think it's this....(insert exposition)

Also I personally find that he doesn't seem to like his characters, so I never really cared about them. Some of the ideas are cool though.
