Reviews of August Heat (1910)

This is clever little circular tale that begins at the same point that it ends. W.F.Harvey writes elegantly and precisely captures the confused emotions that can manifest on particularly hot days.
What happens to the main character, Mr Withencroft, at the end of the tale is somewhat open to interpretation but if you stop and consider the facts of the story together with the last few lines...
Nicely understated and creepy, it's the kind of thing that stays with you. You can read it on line if you do a search for the title.
