Reviews of Dread Companion (1970)
Review by chager (2006-02-15)
I read this book when I was about 12 or 13. Now, at 36, it still stands out in my memory as one that filled my head with some of the most terrible and wonderfully vivid images of any book I've ever read. I still remember the faces of the characters and the creatures and even the environments as I interpreted them from the author's prose. For some reason, I've never read another Andre Norton book, but I will never forget this one. This is the book responsible for turning me into a lifelong avid reader.
