Reviews of Barrayar (1991)

With Cordelia married to Aral she settled down to married life little aware of the importance of her new husband. Forced by circumstances to be regent to the new emperor, Aral Vorkosigan found himself having to make unpleasant decisions including one that would leave his now pregnant wife and unborn son open to an attack that would leave the foetus severely affected.
Then trouble really struck!
With rebellion bringing chaos to the capital and separating Cordelia from her baby. A fatal error for the leader of the rebellion.
This is a great book with a nice gritty feal to the action sequences and a sense of Cordelia's confusion over the politics of the situation. Thanks to this being a direct follow up to _Shards of Honor_ you will need to read Shards first to be fully up to speed.
