Reviews of Nohow On (1989)

I consider myself reasonably literate and generally omnivorous when it comes to reading literature (well, with the exceptions of horror and romance). I have made it through Ulysses three times (and it's made more sense each time!).
This book, however, was almost completely incomprehensible. I admit I had a vague understanding of what the first story was supposed to be about (an old person lies alone in a dark room musing on company--i.e., some visiting "otherness"). The second and third stories left me completely perplexed.
I gave it a 6/10 based on the sheer inventiveness of the stream of consciousness narrative, but I can't really recommend this to anyone, unless you can find an annotated copy that explains what it's supposed to be all about.
