Reviews of Brimstone (2004)
Review by brodiew (2005-09-08)
This was my first experience with Angent Pendergast and it was terrific. I found the novel both haunting and fascinating. The characters interesting and fully realized. Pendergast and Sergeant D'Agosta are an odd, but fun team. The story was well paced and suspensful.
I was also intruigued by the themes of religious fanaticism and superstition. These themes were expertly played in this novel and contributed to its haunting air.
