When I first started to read this book to my daughters I was kind of conflicted because it sounded so much like the Earthsea Trilogy. However, when I stopped reading it to my daughters I began to read it for myself and instantly fell in love with the story and the characters. The mix of fact and folklore was the perfect combination and offered the perfect balance of adventure and chemistry. If you have a good imagination you can really find yourself enveloped in this book and find that despite your best efforts you cannot put it down. This is definitly going to be a classic like Farmers books so give it a try and I gaurantee it will stick with you for generations.
