Unfortunately, I already watched Hellraiser before reading this book. Though Barker directed the movie, I don't think he was able to translate the message that he conveighed in The Hellbound Heart.

All the characters were the same, but somehow Frank and Julia were more sinister in the book. I think The Hellbound Heart is by far superior to Hellraiser.
