Reviews of Titan (1997)

Titan was an intriguing book, to say the least. I considered the concepts presented by Stephen Baxter to be very interesting and his writing style flows well enough to keep the reader's interest.
The characters were easy enough to relate to, but occasionally it seemed as if I'd been exposed to them too long and grew tired of them. Looking back on the context of the story, I realize that this is the exact impression that Baxter intended the reader to experience, paralleling the emotions of the crew; however, at some points in the story, the very specific details caused the reading to drag.
Titan is a very technical, detailed science fiction novel with very much emphasis on the science aspect. I wholeheartedly recommend this to fans of strict science fiction who don't mind trudging through some occasional dry description.
