I'm with g3d. Every Scarpetta novel that passes by gets less enjoyable. Could it be perhaps because the main character is absolutely joyless? One more missed dinner/social occasion/family interaction/holiday due to dead bodies and overwork and I'm going to kick someone. They've become unbelievable and no longer a fun escape for me.
