Reviews of Boy and His Dog, a (1969)
Review by clong (2007-07-29)
This is a story with a great ending, a compelling protagonist (Vic), a compelling supporting character (his dog), and a compelling setting (a brilliantly atmospheric post-apocalyptic near future Los Angeles). And, to my reading, a single massive flaw, the utterly unconvincing virgin-turned-nymphomaniac-who-falls-in-love-with-her-rapist-on-the-spot Quilla June Holmes. Which is too bad, because it wouldn’t have taken much effort to build a more convincing and conflicted character in this role.
