This book was the first book I learned to read. In fact, I taught myself to read with this book as it was easy to remember the words with the illustrations and colors.
Recently I discovered that the author, P.D. Eastman was born in Amherst, Massachusettes and even graduated from Amherst College in 1933. Strange to find out that my favorite author graduated from the same college where I studied.
The illustrations of the crazy dogs driving their cars to the tree where all the dogs are having a big party still makes me laugh.
