Reviews of Moonheart (1984)

A wonderful book! This is one of Charles De Lint's best books. This is a story well told. In the books first chapters we get to know of the old house and its secret places. The gardens. The empty rooms. The eccentric inhabitants. We get to know the characters such as blue the biker and Jamie the owner of the strange house. We get to know the ... Mysterious happenings that build and build till they reach the final crescendo of the end chapters. It's full of his lyrical prose and artfully painted characters. These things are always part of a De Lint book. This is a contemporary fantasy novel set in Canada and ... well, another far away place of forests, dreams and magic. If you love fantasy, magic, music, mythology, forests, mystery and poetic prose then I suggest you check this book out. If you love those things and you like this book then you should defiantly try his other works. They are all superlative.
