Reviews of Edible Woman, the (1969)

I read in a book once that back when this novel was first published it only sold 5,000 copies. Unbelivable! The book is full of well written images without taking attention off the path of story telling. Has a great story and memorable characters, and is crafted with importance in every line of words (if you choose to look deeper into the meaning of it all). It would be drooled over by psychologists as well as patients. A woman searching for an identity highlighting on the influences of sexual roles and her own wanderings in a Wonderland she created. The minor characters also present their own trifles of identity, but each of which is a mirror for our heroine. Go read it.
