Reviews of Unbearable Lightness of Being, the (1984)
Review by eriksonmobile (2005-06-05)
This is one of those books that almost everybody has heard about, but not necessarily read. I was a memeber of this group for quite a while now, but I finally read it last week and I have to say it was one of the best reads ever.
Not only its underlying topic (Russian occupation of CZ and the resulting attempt of revolt) and the philosophical ponderings are proufoundly interesting but also the narrative style is absolutely refreshing.
This is a book that not only grips you because of its plot-line, but also because you cannot help but re-assess your own ideas about life and sense of being.
