Reviews of Warlock's Companion, the (1988)

Review by spiphany (2004-03-10)
The tales about Fess’s life are interesting, but the other bits – about how the Gallowglass family sets out to deghost their new castle – seem like they only serve the purpose of being framing material for the stories about Fess. The technique works okay and is mildly entertaining in itself, but it does seem as though the book could just as effectively have been written as a collection of short stories.
