Reviews of Through the Darkness (2001)
Review by johnafair (2006-09-02)
By this stage in the procedings, it isn't a secret that the main conflict, that between the Algarvian and Unkerlanter forces in west, are lifted virtually item for item from the fighting between the Germans and Russians in the east during WW2.
However, not even that excused the scenes set in Sulingen, which matched virtually scene-for-scene the equivilent action in Stalingrad (see Anthony Bevoir's _Stalingrad_ e.g.).
I don't know whether I can bear to see what else happens in this series :-).
