Reviews of Fires of Paratime, the (1982)

It's always a pleasure to read a well written work of Science Fiction, and The Fires of Paratime qualifies.
It is an engaging story, both on a physical and philosophical level. As is common for L.E. Modesitt, the main theme is an exploration of what the acceptable boundaries for those in power are. In this case, the story follows the growth and awakening of a young man to the abuses of the power structure in his society, and his eventual battle to change the system, even at his own expense.
