Reviews of Good Man Is Hard to Find, a (1953)
I didn’t enjoy “A Good Man is Hard to Find” all that much. The author’s way of writing seemed a bit unprofessional and amateurish throughout the story. To my dismay the humor was lost on me; I knew where the author had attempted to interject humor into the story, but it continuously failed to make me laugh.
The only question I am left with is: Why did “the Misfit” react the way he did when the grandmother said he looked as if he could have been one of her children. His action, that of jumping back and slaying the woman, only made me think could it be true? I got the impression that he committed this murder because he wanted to keep her quiet and silence some life secret. Gotta love cliffhangers.
