Reviews of Backflash (1998)

Like most I was drawn to Starks books by the film payback which was adapted from his book The Hunter. What Stark brings to the table is a refreshing ability to lay out a seemingly simple plot with seemingly simple characters who look to simply be predictable. What you see isn't always what you get and in this tale you never know.
When Parker is hired to hiest a floating casino there is a pretty good assumption that something will go wrong and that Parker will have to find his way around it and quick. Again you aren't dissapointed. The ride is the real treat. Who will do the wrong thing, who will find themselves face down in a gutter, who will walk away with the money. If you like the feel of those old gritty crime novels you'll Stark, any of his books.
