| Richard Matheson is one of, if not my favorite authors. Stephen King often lists him as one of his inspirations. His writing style is rather simplistic but very effective. It reads fast, yet it somehow remains descriptive. His novels read so fast that you may be able to finish them in one or two sittings. He wrote the screenplays for the classic Roger Corman/Vincent Price adaptions of Edgar Allan Poe. He also wrote several Twilight Zone episodes. His movies are almost as familiar as his books. My personal favorite book he has written is I Am Legend with Hell House coming in a close second. |
