| I virtually started reading science fiction with Andre Norton's works way back in the mid seventies - though she'd been writing far longer, of course!
Norton's SF rarely dealt with technology as such, being far more interested in the interactions of people. These people are generally young men who are isolated from the societies in which they find themselves.
Often what technology is involved relates to ancient starfaring species, or old and decadent human civilistaions.
