| Martin Gardner is one of my favorite writers, having first come across his works while working as a student volunteer in my high school library. Through his works I first learned about hexaflexagons, Piet Hein (poetry and Soma blocks), and endless other mathematical diversions. The most unexpected reference to his work I heard was on NPR's "Car Talk" program when one of the brothers opined that he was "the source of ALL puzzlers". And indeed he is. |
