| The essay collection is a good read. It covers a range of topics from the highly speculative to the very personal. Especially impressive for its scholarly content and technical structure is the piece on Roth. Mr. Harris's treatment of his own trials as a Jeopardy television show participant was surprisingly tender. I recommend this little book.
In contrast, Mr. Harris's earlier novel, "Bill, the Galactic Hero:TFIA", was a disappointment. As part of the series of comic-book novels in the series, it is no deeper or better written than its predecessors, and there were unnecessary meandering subplots. The whole absurd journey B,TGH takes through galaxy and life is neatly tied up at the end. But who cares? |
