| i don't understand why liza cody isn't better known, or why the books in her two sleuth series have been allowed to go out of print. her non-mystery novels are also excellent; the short stories perhaps less so. she is a fine writer -- her characters are original, compelling and believable, and she has a first-rate ear for dialogue. fortunately, used copies of all titles are available. i just treated myself to 4 that i read years ago out of the library, plus 2 i somehow missed. lucky me! :-)
