| Pearl S. Buck's books changed my life. I read "Sons" first at the age of 19 and have since read 89 of her books. I now live in China because her love for this country brought me here after so many years of learning about it. Her books brought the Chinese people and people of other places in Asia to life for me. Although the revolution changed the politics of the country, the people are as she decribes them - earthy, humourous, welcoming, serious and yet filled with warmth. I thank her for bringing me into this world long before I actually moved here. |
