| One of the foremost science fiction writers for many, many years. Known best for his "Space Odyssey" series, whose epic storyline spans hundreds of years; however, I think Clarke's best works are his numerous short stories. These stories often introduce startlingly original ideas and give them just enough detail to really get the imagination going, and then leave the rest to the reader. Truth be told, Clarke often tries too hard to write eloquent and dramatic dialogue in his longer works, so these brief sojourns into the fantastic are perfect. |
